This was a City of London project worth $470,000 with the bulk of the work to supply and install 80m of 1950mm diameter storm sewer at a depth of over 6m. The water table was at a depth of 3-4m, thus requiring a well point dewatering system to be used to lower the ground prior to the installation of the sewer. The tight working space between the existing fire hall and the adjacent property line, along with working within the wellpoint system was a challenge. The balance of this project included lighting, curbs, sidewalk, and asphalt to finish the parking lot for the renovated fire hall at 1103 Florence St. Subcontractors included Southwold Diversified for lighting, Robuck Contracting for curbs and sidewalks, and Lafarge Paving for the asphalt.
